Sibiu Jazz Festival
Challenge Sibiu Jazz Festival is the main event of its kind in Romania and is also considered to be representative for this kind of events in Europe. The Festival launched important figures of the romanian jazz music, being one of the most longeval cultural events in Romania, with an existence of over 36 years, being the only romanian jazz festival accnowledged as a member of Europe Jazz Network, Europe's most prestigious jazz network. Sibiu Jazz Festival's declared pupose is to contribute to the revitalization of the jazz movement in Romania in the spirit of Sibiu's jazz tradition, through bounding with the european jazz tendencies and through promoteing Romania's talents abroad, thus becoming a cultural vector for Sibiu and, at the same time, for the entire Romanian jazz music. The Festival's problem was the lack of a clearly shaped identity and of a viable communication strategy, a problem which generated a continuous decrease in number of the audience over the last years. The growing percent of older spectators that defined the Festival's audience was also extremly alarming, taking into consideration the fact that the Festival's main desire was to attract especially the young public. Solution The iDesign Team focused all its efforts in order to create a strong brand identity for the Festival, a brand identity that would reflect the extraordinary contribution of Sibiu Jazz Festival not only to the Romanian jazz phenomena but also to Romania's cultural development in the last 37 years. The next step was the successful realization and implementation of an up-to-date and realistic communication strategy that would ensure not only the presence of the Festival's old public but also the gaining of new audience segments. The great success of the Festival's website, which attracted from April until now over 15.000 visitors, only comes to reconfirm the importance of a well designed and implemented strategy. Creating the Festival's blog also turned out to be a brilliant idea as it also attracted a great number of visitors thanks to its daily reactualized content, after only a few minutes after each show. Its purpose was also to obtain a valuable feedback from the audience who had in this way the opportunity to freely express its oppinions and impresions. iDesign's involvement meant, therefore, a rebranding process, the creation of the Festival's new website www.sibiujazz.eu, realizing the marketing strategy, the communication strategy and the PR component, Sibiu Jazz Festival being a very dear project for the iDesign team who integrated all it's creativity and professionalism in it.
