   iDesign supports Sibiu culture

SIBIU- iDesign is involved in a self-designed series of events for the social integration of minorities, support of culture, the arts, and health, and in the future it plans to expand those areas in which the company could be useful to society and the community, according to the company.

Some of the projects are support for the Community Association for the Social Integration of Rroma Sebes (ASCIR Sebes), support for the Sibiu Jazz Festival, and for the Medieval music group Aeternum. The assistance provided by iDesign consisted in services such as brand identity creation, web pages (for ASCIR, Aeternum, and Snaco Dixie Jazz Band), and in implementing communication strategies.

Having a brand identity proved necessary for ASCIR, made up of both rroma and Romanian members. The members of the association are constantly being assited by various specialists, such as social assistants, education psychologists, legal counselors, journalists, computer scientists, or psychologists, both local and foreign.

According to iDesign officials, their wish was to break out of anonymity, but also to gain a different image. "We helped them by consolidating their strategy, approach, and PR. The website followed those ideas, with emphasis set on usability", said Rares Budac, CEO, iDesign.

The company also supported the Sibiu Jazz Festival, organized by the Hermannstadt Pro Art Foundation. The problem was that the festival lacked a clearly defined identity, and a good communication strategy, which caused a gradual loss of public along the years.

"iDesign focused on creating an identity for the festival, a strong brand identity to reflect the Jazz Festival's contribution to the cultural development of both Sibiu, and the country in general, in the last 37 years", said Budac.

"The visual identity was revitalized, the fonts changed, keeping in the signature trumpet logo made in 1974 by graphic artist Stefan Orth. The next step was creating a new and viable communication strategy, to ensure not only that the public from before was brought back, but that other segments of the public would be persuaded, by audience development", he added.

The contribution made by iDesign to musical culture consisted of designing a web page created by the company for the Medieval music group Aeternum, set up in Sibiu in August 1999.

"We made a website to immortalize the unique and valuable nature of the project, with an interface that combines old and new", Budac explained.
