  The Chess Holland Alliance, the organizer of the Holland National Chess Championship got to the conclusion that the need for a new visual identity of the championship is stringency.

  The old visual identity could not succeed to transmit neither the challenges of the organizer nor the spirit of this competition.

  iDesign Romania was chosen in order to create a new visual identity which could bring a whiff of modernity combined with tradition which characterizes the National Chess Championship of Holland.

   The Brief of Holland National Chess championship had as necessary organizational elements the usage of colors of the National Flag of Holland and also the usage of a specific symbol of this country.

  iDesign team had to include these elements in the new identity so that the visual impact re-echoes in the public perception.

  Solution

  Relying on the long-lived experience in this domain, iDesign team began the creative process by choosing a symbol that would astonish the identity of Holland as a national country.

  The symbol had to be solid and it shouldn’t leave place for different interpretation to the desirable ones. After more analysis the chosen symbol was that of a wind mill specific to Holland.

  The next step was the combination of this symbol with the symbol of Holland National Chess championship, the rook, everything being made in the color nuances of the Holland Flag.

  Of course, the visual solution had to be in the same time versatile in order to mix successfully in its structure ulterior implementations as well as its ampleness for the annual events or children competition.

   Once the graphic criteria and the brands architecture were established, the next step was the achievement of the implementations and communication of the new brand and of its values, and so the iDesign team created the new materials of communication which tell a lot about the essence of competitive spirit , passion for excellence and passion.
